The 2015 NIT Tournament continues Monday when the Texas A&M Aggies host the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. Both teams did not have a good enough resume to make the 2015 NCAA Tournament, but both have the potential to win the NIT Tournament in the coming weeks.

The two-seeded Aggies are fresh off a win against the seven-seeded Montana Grizzlies. In that game, Jalen Jones scored 25 points and brought in eight rebounds. Peyton Allen contributed with 12 points and Jordan Green had 15 points, six rebounds, and assists. Although he didn’t have the best game, Alex Caruso is also a player to watch for the Aggies, as his ability to shoot the deep ball and guard the opposing team’s best guard is second to none.
The away-sided Bulldogs are one of the best teams in the nation at scoring the basketball. They averaged 73 points per game this past season and the main reason why was because of the play of Raheem Appleby and Alex Hamilton. Against the six-seeded Central Michigan Chippewas, Appleby had 22 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Michale Kyser chipped into the winning effort with 10 points.
Although they both play extremely differently, both have star players. With guys like Appleby, Erik McCree, Jones, and Caruso, this game, even though it won’t get a ton of media attention, will most certainly be a fun one to watch. The winner of this game will go on to play the No. 1 seed in the entire tournament in the Temple Owls.
