If you don’t think the women’s NCAA Tournament has Madness to match the men’s tourney, you don’t know what you’re missing. But Monday March 23 is a good time to educate yourself (if you’re not already following) as it’s a full day of women’s tournament games without that pesky men’s tournament hogging all the attention. The first game of the day tips off at 6 p.m. Eastern time as the second seeded Florida State Seminoles take on the seventh seeded Eagles of Florida Gulf Coast for the right to move on to the Sweet Sixteen.
Both teams compiled impressive records this year; the Seminoles went 30-4 while the Eagles went 31-2, including an undefeated conference record. State supremacy is on the line as well as the trip to the Sweet Sixteen, as the Eagles look to continue their winning streak (the team hasn’t lost since way back on Nov. 29). They’ll face a stiff challenge in the form of ACC powerhouse Florida State, who are fresh off a shellacking of 15th seeded Alabama State, 91-49, in the first round of the tournament.
