Nets get trolled by refs with hilariously bad jump ball call (Video)

During the Brooklyn Net’s match up against the Boston Celtics, the refs made a questionable call on Bojan Bogdonavic.

As much as the Brooklyn Nets have been struggling this season, it only makes sense that someone might give them a break every now and then. Well, the referees, as the Nets hosted the Boston Celtics on Monday evening, decided to go with the opposite approach.

Early in the game, Brooklyn Nets forward, Bojan Bogdonavic drove down the baseline and was met by Celtics big man, Kelly Olynyk under the basket.

As Bogdonavic took the ball up strong, a little contact was made between the two but he was able to muscled it past Olynyk for two points. Well, that was until the refs called the play a jump ball canceling out any points awarded to the Nets on the play.

A “jump ball” occurs when two players are tied up and neither can retain sole possession of the ball. This was hardly the case with Bogdonavic and Olynyk as the ball got vaulted up towards the basket shortly after contact between the two was made. There is a little leeway for officials as far as the interpretation of this rule is concerned.

I think it is safe to say the refs missed a call in Brooklyn.

The Brooklyn Nets will try and overcome the refs as they continue facing off against the Celtics on Monday evening. My only hope is that next time their is a tie up between these two teams, the refs give the Nets the benefit of the doubt.
