The Cleveland Browns are going to be interesting to watch this season, but they won’t be allowing any early looks by volunteering for HBO Hard Knocks.
The Cleveland Browns were rumored to be appearing on the latest season of HBO Hard Knocks, but that may have been a premature announcement. While it was reported this weekend that the team is a ‘frontrunner’ to appear on Hard Knocks, the team won’t be accepting an invite to be the study subjects this summer.
According to Mary Kay Cabot from the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns did not volunteer for Hard Knocks and will be declining any offer to appear.

This move makes sense on the surface, as the Browns can’t afford to have their season derailed before it even begins. It’s not as though HBO Hard Knocks sets teams on the right course by invading their training camps and it’s not like any of the teams who have been on Hard Knocks have made it to the Super Bowl.
Johnny Manziel is a big part of the franchise’s future, and if they want to keep him on the right course then keeping the cameras away from their training camp — at least the ones they can control.
