The Dallas Cowboys are hoping to bring back Rolando McClain in free agency.

The Dallas Cowboys took the chance at trading for Rolando McClain last season and he did well as the starter in the middle of the defense. He started in 12 games and finished the season with 81 tackles, a sack and a couple of interceptions. He became a free agent at the end of the year and was hoping that his performance with Dallas was able to get him a nice payday on some roster. He has yet to make a visit with another team and now is hoping to find another chance.

McClain is still available in the open market and the Dallas Cowboys are hoping to bring him back onto the roster. The Cowboys are up against the cap and will likely be looking for a cap friendly deal with Rolando. They could be looking to get the veteran exception. Will Rolando want to accept a deal like that? If he does accept a deal like that, will he want to play hard under that deal or will he look to retire all over again?

McClain was going to be allowed to walk in free agency because of the off-field issues that he has faced. He could be facing a 4-game suspension in the 205 season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. He has not been able to stay clean during his career and that is part of the hesitancy by other teams. They are not sure if he will be able to be available on the field for them.

Rolando would be a nice player to have back onto the roster at a cap friendly deal. He made plays in the middle of the defense in Dallas and now could have Greg Hardy as a teammate. Will McClain accept a deal with Dallas?
