Dougie Hamilton out indefinitely for the Boston Bruins
Boston Bruins defenseman Dougie Hamilton is out indefinitely as the Bruins struggle to grasp a spot in the post season.
The Boston Bruins have not had good luck on the injury front as the National Hockey League approaches the final few games of the regular season. Judging by the looks of things, the news isn’t getting much better on this front as the final sprint kicks into high gear.

The Bruins have already been feeling the sting of loss on the offensive side of things as Bruins center David Krejci has been forced to miss the last 15 games as a result of a partially torn MCL in his left knee the twenty eight year old Czech center suffered back on May 20th.
Now, the Bruins’ troubles continue on as it looks like Krejci may be getting some company in the locker room.
Boston Bruins Head Coach Claude Julien announced via the Bruins’ official website that B’s defenseman Dougie Hamilton would be out indefinitely with an undisclosed injury.
It is believed that Hamilton’s current injury issues are stemming from a collision Hamilton had with left wing Scottie Upshall and center Nick Bjugstad of the Florida Panthers on Saturday night at the BB&T Center in Sunrise in the second period that caused Hamilton to leave the game and not return.
According to Coach Julien, Hamilton will “be re-evaluated in a few more days.” Unfortunately for the Bruins, they simply can’t afford to take their feet of the gas if they want to find themselves on the ice and off the golf course when the post season starts.
"“That’s what we’ve had to do all year, is we’ve had to step up with a number of injuries,” said Julien. “And we’ve got to keep doing it.” – Boston Bruins"
The Bruins aren’t the only team dealing with an inordinate amount of injuries at the moment. The Tampa Bay Lightning played what some have considered to be one of the best games they’ve played all year long on March 16th against the Montreal Canadiens at the Amalie Arena in Tampa.
Unfortunately, that game resulted in the Lightning losing center Ondrej Palat, center Cedric Paquette, and newly acquired defenseman Braydon Coburn to various injuries. At the end of the day, it’s not about what you have lost, but what you do to overcome that defines your team.
As you can imagine, the Bruins are going to do everything in their power to get their paws on one of the Wild Card spots in the Eastern Conference, but after two games in a row – one to the Florida Panthers and the other to the Tampa Bay Lightning – it is going to be an uphill battle for the Bruins to get back on top.
