Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson underwent hip surgery after the Pro Bowl and the recovery time is expected to be 6 to 8 weeks.
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson underwent hip surgery after the Pro Bowl, but he is not expected to miss any time during the season. He has not missed a game since 2012 even after going through knee surgery in 2013. He is expected to be out for 6 to 8 weeks, but will be good to get back on the field after that.

“He had some postseason work done,” head coach Greg McCarthy said via ESPN. “He’ll be fine in a couple weeks. I’ve seen him. [I think] it’s 6 to 8 weeks [recovery time], but really he should answer that. But it’s nothing serious.”
“It was done after the Pro Bowl,” McCarthy said. “Something that kind of hindering him after the Pro Bowl and something he felt he needed to get cleaned up.”
Nelson finished the 2014 season with a career high 1519 receiving yards and had 13 touchdowns. He is expecting another phenomenal season with the Packers.
We will have to watch to see if his hip will hinder him in any way during the season. He likely will be able to get out onto the field and produce like he always has, but the fans will all be aware of the surgery that he had on the hip. Will it be healthy enough to take the beating of an NFL season?
The team doesn’t sound overly concerned with Jordy getting back in time though, so we all can expect him to be a big factor on offense as he always has been. Aaron Rodgers will be happy to have one of his top weapons on the field with him as they make their run at the Super Bowl again.
Jordy has been fairly durable during his career. He only missed games in his 2012 and 2009 seasons, otherwise he has been on the field for the complete season. He should be ready to perform.
