NBA Rumors: Kevin Love to the Knicks?
By Ryan Ratty
With all of their cap room, it wouldn’t come as a surprise at all if the New York Knicks sign Kevin Love in free agency.
All season long, the New York Knicks have been a debacle, and that word is quite an understatement. The Knicks have been so bad that they have been the worst team in the NBA for the majority of the year. The amazing thing is that the Knicks were a team many believed that would make the playoffs before the season. However, even with Carmelo Anthony playing for the first part of the season, the Knicks were still amongst the worst teams in the league.

Despite their problems in the 2014-15 season, the Knicks could go on a spending spree this offseason. With money to spend and the championship aspirations the Knicks have, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Phil Jackson went out and filled this team with talented players to help out Carmelo. Frank Isola, a Knicks writer for the New York Daily News, talked about the possibility of Love joining the Knicks.
"The Knicks are the type of big market team that appeals to Love. The Lakers and Celtics would also be in the mix if Love decides not to return to the Cavaliers after just one season as the third wheel in Cleveland."
Despite being in a position to win a championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers, the fact of the matter is that Love is the third wheel behind LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. Because of that, Love’s production has taken a big toll. In New York, it’s yet to be seen whether his relationship with Carmelo would be good, but the truth is that two would form an intriguing offense in itself. If Love is in fact one and done in Cleveland, the Knicks have the salary cap space and the reasoning to pursue the UCLA product heavily.
