Players from the New York Yankees reenacted a scene from the classic “The Sandlot.”

The Sandlot is baseball movie classic. It was one of those movies that can still be tossed in the VHS (do we make these anymore) and watched over and over again. The movie is still quoted today and will always be one of the best baseball movies around.

The New York Yankees players decided to recreate a scene from that classic. Here is what they put together.

Nobody is going to win an award for their acting for this scene, but it was still a nice kudos to the movie.

Here is the scene with the side-by-side with the actual movie:

The Sultan of Swat. The Colossus of Clout. The Great Bambino!!!!

I was more interested in seeing a scene with Wendy Peffercorn though. When I noticed that the Yankees recreated a scene from the Sandlot, I was hoping that it was that scene with Wendy:

Lotioning and oiling. Oiling and lotioning. Smiling.

You’re killing me smalls!

Squints. Yeah-Yeah. Ham. Smalls. That movie is one of the best of all time. The Yankees did their best to recreate the classic, but some classics should not be touched. Where was A.Rod on the day of filming for this one?
