Report: Patrick Beverley might be out for the season
The Houston Rockets have been bit by the injury bug once again, this time possibly losing their starting point guard for the remainder of the season.
Patrick Beverley has gained a reputation as a fearless player that compensates lesser size and talent with relentless intensity, elite defense and a knack for hitting corner-threes.

The Houston Rockets will be without that spark for the foreseeable future. According to Houston Chronicle, Beverley is facing a potential season-ending wrist surgery for an injury suffered during Monday’s 110-100 victory over the Indiana Pacers.
"“If the news is bad on Pat, he may be out a while,” Rockets coach Kevin McHale. “The initial thought was that it might be bad. Hopefully it will be good news.”"
Beverley will be replaced by former Rocket-killer Jason “The Jet” Terry. The 37-year old sharpshooter has found a home in Houston after spending years ruining the Rockets playoff hopes while a member of the Dallas Mavericks.
This year he is switching roles, supplying Houston with championship experience and dead-eye 3-point shooting. So far, the Rockets have excelled with Terry in the starting lineup.
Pablo Prigiono and rookie Nick Johnson will provide relief for the aging Terry, but only time will tell how deep the impact will be. While Johnson has limited experience at the NBA-level, McHale is confident that his reserves will be able to rise to the occasion.
"“Jet and Pablo have been around for a long time,” McHale said. “They both know how to play the game.”"
Houston will miss their spark plug at point guard undoubtedly. The biggest question will be who can step up and fill the void on defense. Beverley may not be a superstar on offense, but you will be hard-pressed to find a more tenacious perimeter defender in the NBA.
