While appearing on ESPN’s Highly Questionable, Alonzo Mourning confirmed the rumor that Dikembe Mutombo’s pick-up line at Georgetown was, “Who wants to sex Mutombo?”

There’s long existed a rumor that suggests Dikembe Mutombo used to yell, “Who wants to sex Mutombo?” when around a group of women as a means of picking them up while at Georgetown.

However, this is an unsubstantiated rumor no more.

While appearing on ESPN’s Highly Questionable, Alonzo Mourning, who was a teammate of Mutombo’s at Georgetown from 1988-1991, confirmed Mutombo used the suggestive line often.

It’d be hard to find a funnier few minutes of TV than that.

It’s also fine journalistic work from hosts Dan Le Batard and Bomani Jones. Give them credit for never giving up on this story, despite Mourning first giving them a “no content” on the matter and Mutombo previously denying the rumor’s truth in the past.

But, thanks to the persistence from Le Batard and Jones, the biggest sports mystery in years has been solved.

Mutombo didn’t solely excel off-the-court while at college; the seven-foot-two-inch big averaged 15.2 points, 12.2 rebounds and 4.7 blocks per game in his final year at Georgetown. He was ultimately selected by the Denver Nuggets with the No. 4 pick in the 1991 NBA Draft and played professionally until 2009.
