West Virginia freshman promises upset victory over Kentucky
By Josh Hill
West Virginia freshman Daxter Miles Jr has made a bold prediction that the Mountaineers will beet No. 1 seeded Kentucky this weekend.
The West Virginia Mountaineers are trying to make it past the Kentucky Wildcats for yet another consecutive year — and someone who wasn’t involved in any of those runs in the past believes this is the year it’s going to be different.
Freshman Daxter Miles Jr doesn’t believe that the Kentucky Wildcats will be perfect for much longer. It’s clear that Miles is excited to be in March Madness and to have made it to the Sweet 16, but Baxter may be a little too excited that the Mountaineers are in the Sweet 16.
This week, Miles made a bold prediction that West Virginia will beat Kentucky this weekend and went the Wildcats perfect season.
"“[I] salute them to getting to 36-0. But tomorrow they’re gonna be 36-1.”"
There are incredibly dimwitted things to say — and then there’s this. Someone apparently never told Miles the phrase don’t poke the bear as the freshman not only poked the bear but went all Monty Python with it and slapped it in the face reputedly with a fish.
That didn’t end well, and neither will West Virginia’s game against Kentucky.
It’s one thing to have moxie — it’s another thing entirely to be as bold as this and say that you’re going to beat the best team in the country. You can’t blame Miles though, as not only is he a freshman but he truly and honestly believes that West Virginia can beat Kentucky this weekend.
That takes guts — but not everyone who has guts is in the right.
