The Xavier Musketeers will be listening to DMX’s “X Gon’ Give it to Ya” on endless repeat
Everyone’s got a mix to get them pumped. Usually it’s a series of heart-racing, adrenaline-pumping songs designed to put you in the best frame of mind to get things done.
Note the word “series” in that description. It’s an important one; though apparently not if you’re the Xavier Musketeers, and you’re getting yourselves pumped to face Arizona in the Sweet Sixteen. Then you only need one song:

Someone’s a big DMX fan.
I understand the point they’re making, but listening to “X Gon’ Give it to Ya” that many times in a row actually just sounds like a nightmare. I sincerely hope that no one actually listened to this playlist all the way through. At that point, you may run the risk of your players’ brains being melted before the game starts, and no one wants that.
Isn’t playing one song on endless repeat one of the things they do to torture prisoners? That doesn’t sound like something you should be doing voluntarily.
So while the message is clear, and clever, for Xavier’s sake we should hope that this playlist was never actually played. Torture tactics do not usually lead to basketball success.
