Notre Dame got off to a fast start against Wichita State in the Sweet 16 on Thursday, opening the contest on a 15-5 run.

That run was punctuated on an impressive play from Fighting Irish big man Zach Auguste, whose fake pick ultimately set up an easy dunk for himself.

Take a look at Auguste’s great play below:

That wasn’t Auguste’s only sick offensive play from the first half. He also schooled the Wichita State defense down low a few minutes later.

The Wichita State defense had no answers for Auguste and his Fighting Irish teammates early on the offensive end, and these plays surely serve as an example of that.

The Shockers absolutely have to pick things up on the defensive end if they want to turn this game around and advance to the Elite Eight.
