Live scoring tracker for the NCAA Tournament game between the NC State Wolfpack and Louisville Cardinals with a trip to the Elite Eight hanging in the balance.

The No. 4 Louisville Cardinals are hoping they won’t be the next upset victim to fall at the hands of the No. 8 NC State Wolfpack who ousted the No. 1 Villanova Wildcats on Saturday night to get to the Sweet Sixteen.

More from March Madness

NC State needed to beat the buzzer in their second round game against No. 9 LSU but they didn’t have to sweat it out too much in their third round game against Villanova that they won 71-68. The Wildcats made it closer than the final score indicated as the Wolfpack knocked off a No. 1 seed for the third time in program history with Trevor Lacey leading the way for one of five ACC teams still alive in the NCAA Tournament.

Louisville is less of a surprise to see in the Sweet Sixteen than NC State, but this is not one of Rick Pitino’s teams he’s had at Louisville which is a testament to his coaching and how well he’s prepared his team for March. The Cardinals knocked off UC Irvine by two points in the second round before advancing to play Northern Iowa, a popular Final Four pick, in the third round where they beat the Panthers 66-53.

This is a rematch of an ACC regular season game from Feb. 14 when NC State won at Louisville 74-65 behind Anthony Barber’s 21 points.

Whoever emerges victorious in the contest will meet the winner of No. 3 Oklahoma and No. 7 Michigan State with that winner headed to the Final Four.
