The Michigan State Spartans are the latest team to enter the Final Four group for Indianapolis next weekend

After an overtime thriller, it will indeed be the Spartans of Michigan State that will be heading to the Final Four next weekend as champions of the East Region.
This game was everything that we expected from these two titans and more, with this one needing an extra five minutes to decide a winner. Louisville had a chance to take the game in regulation, but they couldn’t get the job done at the free throw line.
In the overtime period, this one was all Tom Izzo and Michigan State. The March success continues for the legendary head coach and his program.
That being said, here’s a look at the updated NCAA Tournament bracket with Michigan State punching their ticket to the Final Four.
You really can never count out Tom Izzo and this Michigan State team when the month of March rolls around, and throughout the course of the past two weeks, that has been proven to us once again.
From here now, as you can see in the bracket above, Michigan State will now await the winner of the South Region which will be decided shortly between Duke and Gonzaga. With the way that the Spartans are playing here down the stretch run of the season, match ups with either one of those teams are a college basketball fan’s dream. Next weekend, we’ll get one of them.
Already advancing to the Final Four on Saturday were Wisconsin and Kentucky, who beat Arizona and Notre Dame respectively. Although, we learned that the Wildcats are not invincible; they can be beaten on a good night. Michigan State might get that chance, but they would have to wait until the national championship game.
Whatever the case will ultimately end up being, this year’s Final Four is shaping up to be something special, and we only have one more slot left to fill.
