Matt Stafford’s fiancee was not too pleased with the Detroit Sun Times for an article they published that crushed Stafford for his behavior at the Michigan State-Oklahoma NCAA Tournament game.

Troll Matt Stafford and expect to hear about it from his fiancee.

The Detroit Sun Times learned that the hard way when Stafford’s fiancee, Kelly Hall, ripped the newspaper on Instagram for an article that slammed Stafford for not cheering hard enough for Michigan State at the team’s Sweet 16 game against Oklahoma.

The Sun Times sort of deserved what came to them here. The premise of the article, which compares Stafford’s less-than-enthusiastic cheering for Michigan State to Aaron Rodgers’ loud cheering for the Wisconsin Badgers during the tournament, is pretty unfair.

The article reads:

"After a big play in the first half, super-fan and super star Magic Johnson stood up to clap. Stafford’s fiance Kelly Hall was showing her support too. Stafford? Not so much.He could really learn something from his NFC North counterpart."

As Hall notes, Stafford and his fiancee didn’t even go to Michigan State. So, in a sense, the Sun Times is criticizing Stafford for casually taking in a basketball game of a school that he has no real ties to.

It’s hard to blame Hall for being upset with the piece.

The Lions drafted Stafford with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. He threw for 4,257 yards and 22 touchdowns last season and has amassed 21,714 yards and 131 touchdowns for his career.
