Todd McShay released his most recent mock draft and he switched things up a bit with the top selections. He had the Oakland Raiders selecting Leonard Williams with the 4th selection.Ā

Todd McShay has released his most recent NFL Draft and the top selection remains the same with Jameis Winston staying in Tampa Bay. Marcus Mariota has moved up and down in the draft on mock drafts and now is back at number 2 with Tennessee. There were a number of experts that have said that Mariota will be gone after the first 2 picks in the draft, we just were not sure which team would be making that pick at number 2 if he is gone. McShay believes that it could be the Titans that make the selection. Ken Whisenhunt said that Mariota would be the immediate starter if he was brought onto the team with the 2nd selection.

More from Jacksonville Jaguars

With both quarterbacks off of the board, fansĀ Ā would think that Leonard Williams would be the next selection by the Jacksonville Jaguars, but McShay seemed to have gotten bored with his normal selections and switchedĀ things up. He selected WR Amari Cooper to go to Jacksonville instead.

That leftĀ Leonard Williams to fall to Oakland. The Raiders would love to add a recceiver with their selection, but if Williams is on the board, then they have to select him. Imagine having Williams on the defense with Khalil Mack. That would be a solid combo on the defense for years and years. Williams and Mack would race to get to theĀ quarterback and would give the Raiders a couple of young impact players in their front 7.

WilliamsĀ seems like a perfect fit for Jacksonville though. McShay argues that the Jaguars have been active this offseason trying to fix their defensive front by re-signing Tyson Alualu and Derrick Morgan and then adding Jared Ordick. Those moves don’t seem to be enough to keep them from taking Williams with that selection though. Even with those moves, the Jaguars still should add Williams to their defense. He is the best defensive player in the draft and could help the Jaguars immediately in Gus Bradley’s scheme. I don’t see him falling to the Raiders at this point.

Here is how the rest of the top 10 rounded out for McShay:

Washington Redskins – DE Dante Fowler Jr, Florida
New York Jets – OLB Randy Gregory, Nebraska
Chicago Bears – WR Kevin White, West Virginia
Atlanta Falcons – OLB Shane Ray, Missouri
New York Giants – OT Brandon Sherff, Iowa
St. Louis Rams – DeVante Parker, Louisville

McShay also had Todd Gurley as the top running back selected in the draft by the San Diego Chargers with the 17th selection. Melvin Gordon fell out of the first round in his latest mock draft.
