Pittsburgh Steelers

  • 2014 Finish: 11-5, 1st in AFC North, Lost in Wild Card
  • Top Positional Need: Defensive Back

Aside from the ridiculously critical position of quarterback, the guys who cover explosive wide-outs remain valuable position number two in this league.

For Kevin Colbert, Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers, they cannot go into 2015 with this current flock of corners.

Steelers Secondary:

  • Cortez Allen (CB)
  • B.W. Webb (CB)
  • William Gay (CB)
  • Troy Polamalu (S)
  • Mike Mitchell (S)
  • Shemarko Thomas (S)

The Steelers were so desperate that they were actually involved in some Darrelle Revis talk during free agency. Remember, this is a team who never signs big name free agents. They prefer the building through the draft, rely on strong coaching, and focus on development.

Not only do the corners need significant improving, but the safeties do as well. They want Troy Polamalu gone, Mike Mitchell isn’t getting any younger, and Shamarko Thomas hasn’t developed they way they envisioned.

The word during draft day for Pittsburgh will be “secondary.”
