Which playoff matchups in the Western Conference will be the most enticing and intriguing?

The 2015 NBA Playoffs start in about three weeks and they are creeping up on us faster than we realize. With all the attention being focused towards March Madness this time of the sports calendar year (and rightfully so), pro basketball’s version of their postseason is bulldozing our way and it’s gonna be glorious. That is the Western Conference side of the playoffs I’m talking about. The Eastern Conference side of the playoffs is like an appetizer compared to the Western Conference, which is certainly the entrée. Ever since Michael Jordan retired from the Chicago Bulls in 1998 and completed a three-peat, the West has been by far the superior conference and also the more exciting and interesting one as well.

That’s no different this year either.

The insane thing about the West this season is that (if the current playoff standings hold once the season ends) then all eight playoff teams have a legitimate chance to win the championship. ALL EIGHT TEAMS!!! The NBA’s never had this many title contenders in one conference ever in the history of the league…and they each have an equal shot to win the title too. (Maybe except the OKC Thunder now that superstar Kevin Durant will miss the rest of the season. Sucks for Oklahoma City and the whole league).

That prompted me to come up with a Top Five List of the Best Potential Playoff Matchups in the upcoming Western Conference playoffs. (Hint: The matchups can take place in any round throughout the playoffs.) Let’s jump into it!
