This week, the Washington Nationals’ mascot, “Screech”, went out and visited fans at the toll booth on a Virginia Highway.

Not only did the mascot slap five and wave to all the fans, he went above and beyond as he paid for their tolls and gave them Nationals hats.

For commuters on the east coast, paying the toll every day can be a hassle and a minor annoyance. Luckily, Screech took care of everything as he invited drivers out to the ballpark for Monday’s opener.

It was a great gesture by the Nationals to pay for the fans. The Nationals are primed to be contenders for the World Series, as the team added Max Scherzer in the off-season to an already strong rotation.

Last year, the Nationals fell in the Division Round of the NL Playoffs, and this year they are looking to take the next step.

If they can pull that off, they might do more for the fans than just pay their toll.
