This year’s NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament has been as exciting as ever, but we will be crowning a national champion in just a few days. After the action on Sunday, we know that the two teams that will be playing for that title will be the UConn Huskies and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
In the first game of the Women’s Final Four on Sunday, Notre Dame was able to hold off a pretty solid effort from the South Carolina Gamecocks to punch their ticket to Tuesday night’s title game. South Carolina made a nice run late in the second half to try and steal another one away, but they couldn’t get the job done in the end and the Irish survived.
The second game of the evening saw two more pairs of No. 1 seeds do battle as the UConn Huskies took on the Maryland Terrapins, and well, this was more of the same from the Huskies, who look as if they’re poised to capture yet another national championship. Geno Auriemma and his team routed the Terps, 81-58.
Here is a look at the final NCAA Women’s Tournament bracket as we head into the championship game on Tuesday between Notre Dame and UConn.
