To say the Wisconsin Badgers basketball team is on a roll at this point would be an enormous understatement. To say that Sam Dekker is on his own personal roll would also be correct as well, but maybe there’s a hidden inspiration fueling him that we did not know about until now. Maybe the reasoning for Dekker’s tremendous game on the court steams from some words he gets from another Badgers star, former running back Melvin Gordon.
Yes, ahead of the showdown the Wisconsin Badgers face on Monday night against the Duke Blue Devils in the national championship game in Indianapolis, Taylor Rooks of the Big Ten Network caught up with Gordon, who is preparing for the NFL Draft, and he revealed to her that he likes to give Dekker some pep talks before the games.
Gordon’s message is pretty simple, but hey, it seems to be getting the job done, given the position the Badgers are currently in.

Hey, while Gordon never had the dubious honor of competing for a national title while in Madison, he was still one of the more driven and ferocious college football players that we have seen in the past decade, so his motivational speeches carry some serious weight along with them.
Speaking of Gordon and this game on Monday, he also revealed that he has a friendly bet going with fellow top running back Todd Gurley, who has decided to side with the Blue Devils from Duke University.
Melvin Gordon also engaging in friendly competition between his fellow top RB, Todd Gurley. Gurley rooting for Duke tonight.

Dekker better come through for his boy Gordon tonight, who would love to have some minor bragging rights heading into the NFL Draft later this month.
Duke vs Wisconsin tips off Monday night at 9 PM ET.
