A 12-year-old kicked your ass at this year’s March Madness Bracket Challenge and you should be ashamed of yourself

There were over 11 million people who took part in the ESPN March Madness Bracket Challenge, and a 12-year-old child tied with one other person for top spot. That’s right, you got beat by a pre-pubescent boy who isn’t even old enough to claim the cash prize if he wins the draw.

Everyone from the top 1% will be entered in the draw for a gift card worth $20,000, but sadly for little Sam Holtz, you have to be at least 18 years old to collect the prize.

Sam hadn’t watched a single regular season game this past season, yet he managed to pick an incredible amount of winners for March Madness. I too didn’t manage to watch a regular season game, but I didn’t have the same amount of luck when it came to picking the winners.

It’s bound to be an absolute thrill for the almost teenage boy, and he will no doubt have bragging rights over his friends until one of them wins the bracket someday. Which statistically, will never happen.

How does it feel to be beaten by a 12 year old? I’m a little upset about it. My day began on a high note when I found out that I had finished third in the office bracket after months of research that paid off. Then this kid comes along and I learn it’s all about luck! He totally took the shine off my third place apple, and I’ll be using his strategy next year by picking the teams with the cool names.
