Is LaMarcus Aldridge on the fantasy All-NBA team?

We are coming rapidly to the conclusion of yet another long and hard-fought fantasy NBA season. I thought it would be a fun thing to hand out our own fantasy basketball awards taking a page from the actual NBA and then also making up a few of our own awards. Over the coming days I will list out a number of awards coming out over several posts. Some posts may feature one award while others may feature a few.

I will hand out awards for categories like Fantasy MVP, Fantasy MIP (most improved player), Defensive Player of the Year and so forth. I am looking forward to any and all feedback and if you have an award you would like to see handed out then by all means hit me up on Twitter by following the link above or by clicking right here @DaveFuqua and sending me a message there.

Today I thought we would get the ball rolling by naming our Fantasy All-NBA Team. Where will players like LaMarcus Aldridge and Marc Gasol fit in here? Will we have room to honor players that you like? Well let us dig right in here and get to naming our Fantasy All-NBA team.

Oklahoma City Thunder. Russell Westbrook. PG. player. 149. Russell Westbrook has been one of the single most dominant players in all of basketball, much less fantasy basketball. I did a quick survey in my leagues and found that Russell Westbrook was on roughly 80% of the teams that had won a championship or was still in the midst of winning. That says that pretty much just like on the Thunder, Westbrook is a sort of one-man wrecking crew. If you follow my writings here at Fantasy CPR you have already <a href=. Point Guard

Golden State Warriors. Stephen Curry. SG. player. 41. Stephen Curry has been one of the most consistent players in the NBA this year. I absolutely have become a huge fan of his game and think he is the player I most want to watch in the entire NBA. Curry has such a pure jumper and his handles are just incredible to watch. He is the kind of player you ask your kids to watch and want them to emulate.. Shooting Guard

SF. player. 156. I really had hopes of being able to put some other player here. I am just kind of over LeBron James and the way he plays the game of basketball. Don’t get me wrong he still gets my love as one of the better players in the NBA, but I simply think that this is one of those times that we are allowing history to make some judgments on him and are actually making him appear better than he is. To me it is insane that we have people out here who are already lobbying to put him ahead of Michael Jordan as the greatest of all-time. I have to be honest here, I don’t even think he is better than Kobe Bryant or even Tim Duncan for that matter. Take a look at how much better of a place the Spurs organization is as opposed to the Cavaliers for having drafted Duncan. With all that said you can’t deny how great James is to own on your fantasy basketball team and you can’t deny he is easily the best SF to have on your squad as well.. Small Forward. Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron James

Anthony Davis. PF. player. 69. I am happy to say just how wrong I have been on Anthony Davis. When he came into the league, I have to admit I was one of his naysayers. I did not think that he would amount to much of anything, except maybe a mid-range fantasy center at best. He has really shut that whole narrative up and exploded his way to be roughly a top five fantasy player. If Davis can shake these small injury things that caused him to miss several games this season he easily has the talent to find himself as the top fantasy player to own in all of the NBA.. Power Forward. New Orleans Pelicans

C. player. 67. I have decided that owning DeMarcus Cousins will always come with a bit of risk as far as being shut down for too many technical fouls or being suspended for mouthing off to a coach or any other number of things that come with being a bit hot around the collar. However, you just can not argue with what Cousins brings when he is on the court. Cousins is an undisputed talent and can dominate any game that he shows up to with his head screwed on straight. He is worth the hassle and the risk of owning him because he will bring the stats every night that he plays.
Stay tuned and we will start handing out the awards and we will also be naming the Second-Team Fantasy All-NBA Team
. Center. Sacramento Kings. DeMarcus Cousins
