The game between the Yankees and Red Sox went so long Friday that announcer Bob Costas began reading the fun facts on the inside of a Snapple bottle.
Friday nightās matchup between the Yankees and Red Sox was a marathon of a game. There were delays and 19 innings, and by the end of it all, barely anyone remained in the stands.

Even worse, the two teams had to follow up their marathon affair with a day game on Saturday.
With such a long game, Bob Costas, who was calling the game for MLB Network, broke off into talking about random things unrelated to baseball.
This isnāt unusual at all for the sport, because with 19 innings and close to seven hours of game time, there is only so much one can talk about.
During the bottom of the 16th, Costas took it a step further and read a fun fact from the inside of his Snapple bottle.
āIn Switzerland, itās illegal to own only one guinea pig because they are prone to loneliness.ā
Those were the words of Costas as he was searching for things to talk about during the 16th inning.
At that point, it was so late in New York that people were probably too tired to pay attention or listen to the fun fact, if they were even still up at that point.
Luckily for everyone, the game ended in the 19th and everyone left at Yankee Stadium was able to go home and go to sleep.
