Marlins’ Dee Gordon dunks on Christian Yelich in postgame interview
The Miami Marlins are having some fun and celebrating walk-off wins by dunking over each other with mini basketballs and hoops.
Miami has had a slow start to the season as the Marlins were 0-3 and in extra innings during their fourth game of the year against the Tampa Bay Rays. It wasn’t looking promising as the Marlins were looking in the eyes of an 0-4 start, but third-year outfielder Christian Yelich stepped to the plate.

Dee Gordon was the runner in scoring position for the Marlins and the first win was within reach. Yelich singled to center in the 10th inning, scoring the game-winning run against the Rays, handing the Marlins a solid victory, 10-9, improving to just 1-3 on the year.
After the game, Yelich was being interviewed by a reporter and that’s usually when the shaving cream pies to the face usually happen. However, this postgame celebration was a bit different and a lot more fun than shaving cream to the face.
Yelich was totally unsuspecting as Gordon had a teammate sneak up behind the hero with a hoop while he ran up with a mini basketball and dunked on Yelich.
Although the Marlins are just 1-3 on the year, they are having fun and the team chemistry looks to be at an all-time high. Sometimes that’s all you need to get out of slumps like the one they have been in since Opening Day.
