Chris Paul’s passing wizardry and Blake Griffin’s dunking ability have been a pretty good combination for the Los Angeles Clippers over the past few seasons. On Saturday night, they showed why they are one of the most exciting duos in the NBA yet again.
In the first quarter of the Clippers’ win over the Memphis Grizzlies, Paul threaded the needle through several opponents to find Griffin for the wide open dunk on the fast break.
Whenever you make the Grizzlies’ defense look silly, something is going right.
Those were the easiest two points of a bit of an off night for Griffin. Griffin finished with 18 points, but did so on 6-21 shooting.
Paul incredibly had 10 assists at this point in the first quarter and would add four more by the end of the game. He added 15 points in the 94-84 Los Angeles win.
While Paul clearly trails Stephen Curry and James Harden in the MVP race, great play and facilitation on both ends of the floor have at least put him in the fringe of the discussion. The Clippers will hope Paul and Griffin can keep connecting like this as they try to secure the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference and this week before moving on to the postseason.
