Mets fans boo trainers during introductions (Video)
With several key players injured or coming off injuries, the Mets trainers were booed out of Citi Field by fans during Opening Day introductions in New York.
The New York Mets have a ton of talented young pitching that is expected to lead them into the future. Unfortunately, a lot of those pitchers have been getting injured or are coming off injuries.

Monday, Mets fans brought their pitchforks and torches to Citi Field as they let the organization and the team’s training staff really hear it.
As assistant trainer Brian Chickilo and head trainer Ray Ramirez were introduced to the crowd, the Mets fans relentlessly booed the two trainers in a public display of anger and outrage over the injury to Zack Wheeler this year and the injury to Matt Harvey last year.
Booing in New York is nothing new. In fact, this was a good time for Mets fans to get some training in before they boo the New York Jets draft pick in a few weeks.
For years New York sports fans have booed anything in sight. It doesn’t matter who you are, if you’re in New York, you will be booed.
Case in point, last year on Opening Day, Mayor Bill de Blasio threw out the first pitch. Before the PA announcer could finish his name, the crowd at Citi Field booed de Blasio off the mound.
The Mayor would return again this year to honor fallen New York City Police Officers. Despite not even throwing out the first pitch this time, de Blasio was once again met with a chorus of boos.
Mets fans know it was Mayor Bloomberg who tried to ban Big Gulps right, not de Blasio?
Despite the injuries, the Mets have a talented core of youngsters that might finally be able to put the Mets over the hump in the AL East. They just need to be on the field to do that.
However this is New York, there’s no time for patience, if something bad happens, expect to hear it from the crowd.
