Dani Carvajal denies biting Mario Mandzukic

Dani Carvajal spoke out on Twitter denying allegations that he bit Mario Mandzukic in Atletico’s Champions League encounter with Real Madrid.
The Real Madrid right-back punched and allegedly seemed to have bitten Mario Mandzukic in a tussle during Atletico’s 0-0 draw with their derby rivals in the Champions League quarterfinals.
Lucky not to be sent off as the referee didn’t see the incident, the media picked up on it, asking managers Diego Simeone and Carlo Ancelotti about it after the game, however, both managers claimed they didn’t see it.
Just over an hour since the game finished though, Carvajal tweeted on his personal Twitter account stating that he wanted to make it clear that he didn’t bite anyone.
To me, it looks like an outright bite and I’d be very surprised to see him escape any potential punishment for it unless we get another camera angle.

Let’s be honest. If it was Luis Suarez who did that, we’d all be crying for UEFA to take action.
Just recently in Manchester City’s 2-1 loss to Barcelona, Suarez seemed to have bitten Martin Demichelis and we all thought it was an outright bite. However, another camera angle showed that Suarez didn’t do anything of the sort:
As for Carvajal, we may need more angles on the ‘bite’ but there’s no doubt, he did strike Mandzukic and action should be taken.
