Memphis Redbirds fans are not happy with the recent change in vendors for their choice in BBQ nachos.

You can’t teach an old dog new tricks and you can’t make Memphians eat poser nachos. Those are two of the most sure things in life. Minor League Baseball fans for the Memphis Redbirds are extremely unhappy about the recent change in nacho vendors.

So unhappy, in fact, that it was nearly a breaking news story for Local 24 News in Memphis.

AutoZone Park, home of the Memphis Redbirds, has had some of the best BBQ nachos around and fans of the team had taken notice. The nachos were catered to the fans by Rendezvous, a local eatery, until recently when the stadium decided to use an in-house vendor for all the nacho needs.

Fans were not happy with the recent development, and even took to Twitter to voice their frustrations with the change.

According to a local resident, Kevin Cerrito, these nachos are a way of life, “If you go to a game at AutoZone Park, you aren’t going for the nachos, but you are probably going to get nachos when you go. So it is an important part of the experience being there.”

All these people really want is some justice for their stolen nachos. It’s hard to watch a minor league game if there are no nachos to enjoy in between.

The fans that took to Twitter were really serious about this issue, stating that you can’t fool people from Memphis on BBQ. Taking the local restaurant’s BBQ nachos from the stadium’s vendors is like stealing candy from a baby. It’s easy to do, but you just shouldn’t do it.

I’m going to assume a petition will be created soon for angry Memphians to sign regarding the misplacement of delicious BBQ nachos.
