Semifinal Round

(1) Golden State Warriors vs. (5) San Antonio Spurs: If there is one thing that Wisconsin showed us during the NCAA Tournament it is that even great teams can be beat. The San Antonio Spurs present the greatest threat to Golden State running the table to the NBA Championship.

Of all the teams in the NBA, the Warriors only have a losing record to the defending NBA Champions, losing two of their three games against the Spurs. Popovich has no problem running and gunning at Golden States pace, but even though this NBA Playoff situation has changed, it is still the NBA Playoffs, meaning games still slow down and execution in half court sets are what wins games. San Antonio has proven they are able to do that year in and year out.

Though they are immensely talented, The Warriors jump shots will fail them against the Spurs stout defense and the Spurs will advance to the NBA Championship game.

(2) Atlanta Hawks vs. (11) Chicago Bulls: It had to end sometime, right? Although they were able to win two road games to get to neutral site, the Hawks firepower will be too much for the Chicago Bulls to handle.

With Thibodeau, if a team has a star player he can key on and shut them down, he will be successful. Who is that player on the Atlanta Hawks? Players in that offensive system can hurt you in their specific roles. It’s like different pieces coming together to form a basketball-playing Voltron (which, coincidentally, would be awesome).

The Hawks would win this game after the Bulls run out of steam.
