The Storm taking Loyd came as little surprise. She dominated for the Fighting Irish all season long and helped push them to an appearance in the national championship game.
The Tulsa Shock had the second pick in the draft and selected Minnesota’s Amanda Zahui B.
Seattle also grabbed Connecticut’s Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis with the No. 3 overall pick, giving them an impressive rookie class for next season. Mosqueda-Lewis’ Huskies knocked off the Fighting Irish in the title game.
