F.
There is despair, there is misery and there is the New York Knicks.

In what was a hysterical chain of events, the Knicks couldn’t even “execute” in tanking effectively, as New York captured a meaningless win over Atlanta in Game #81. That victory kept New York out of the top spot in terms of lottery odds, and it was yet another reminder that the Knicks are a fledgling franchise with no apparent direction.

Yes, New York has a clean cap sheet and a credible name in charge with Phil Jackson, but that is the end of the positives in the Big Apple. Derek Fisher has appeared overmatched throughout the season, the organization gave away Iman Shumpert, J.R. Smith and Tyson Chandler for little to no return, and even the big ticket item (Carmelo Anthony) is banged up with injuries and an aging body.

The future could be bright with a top-5 pick and the lure of a major market, but in terms of the 2014-2015 season itself, the Knicks were an unmitigated disaster. Ranting about the comical roster during the second half of the season may ring hollow, but New York’s inability to field a competitive product says it all.
. 5th.
