C+.
Much like their Eastern Conference counterparts in the Toronto Raptors, this season has been a mixed bag in Washington. The Wizards are 13-14 since the All-Star break with an offense that can’t crack 100 points per 100 possessions, and Randy Wittman is, well, Randy Wittman.

Perhaps the worst thing that happened to the Wizards from an overall standpoint was their strong start. That allowed Wittman to solidify his footing in keeping his job, and with a roster that was geared toward winning in the immediate future (see Pierce, Paul), the Wizards needed a better coach in the present.

Throw in injury issues that have sapped John Wall’s productivity (though he still averages 17.6 points and 10.0 assists per game) and the inevitable absence for Bradley Beal and things haven’t been going terribly well. Still, Washington finds themselves in the 4-5 matchup in the East, and given the projected logjam in the preseason, it is impossible to argue that the Wizards are a “disappointment”.

Two months ago, the Wizards would’ve grabbed a B+ at worst, but now, our excitement is tempered.
. 2nd.
