C-.
The Nets are who we thought they were.

Heading into the season, Brooklyn was projected for 38 wins, and at this moment, they are on pace for… 38 wins. Lionel Hollins and his team needed a flourish at the end of the season, including six straight wins, to approach playoff consideration and their 38-win projection, but it hasn’t exactly been a riveting season for Brooklyn.

Deron Williams and Brook Lopez have both performed in a very up and down manner this season, with Lopez peaking late and Williams seemingly varying from elite point guard to also-ran. That exemplifies this group very well, as the Nets have some quality personnel, but nothing that stands out in a significant way when discussing 2015.

Hollins was, by all accounts, a solid hire from the Nets in the aftermath of Jason Kidd bolting for Milwaukee, but there is a ceiling to his old-school tactics and Brooklyn displays that. This is a rudderless basketball operation at this point, with no draft picks to speak of and a jammed up cap situation, but on the “bright” side, the Nets are still alive in the playoff picture as I type this.
. 3rd. Atlantic Division, Eastern Conference. BROOKLYN NETS
