After almost four years since being brutally attacked, Bryan Stow threw out the first pitch at the San Jose Giants game.

Four years ago one of the most reprehensible actions in sports happened as Giants fan Bryan Stow was viciously attacked at Dodgers Stadium.

Four years later, while Stow uses a walker and needs helping getting around after suffering major brain trauma, he is improving by the day.

Thursday night, Stow returned to the baseball field as the San Francisco Giants Class-A affiliate the San Jose Giants took the field.

Stow, with his family at his side, threw out the first pitch at San Jose’s home opener.

Even better, he was able to make it to home plate to the cheers of the crowd there happy to see him recovering and doing well.

Stow was so excited about throwing out the first pitch, that he spent lots of time practicing for the big moment.

"“This has been really big for me,” said Stow. “Each pitch, practicing every single day is big and I’m making the most of it.”"

Stow had so much fun doing it, that he said he’s able to do it whenever they need him.

What was once a dark moment for baseball and fan violence is turning into an uplifting story as Stow continues to get better by the day.

He will be in attendance next week at AT&T Park, when the Giants play host to their rival Los Angeles Dodgers.
