The Chicago Cubs are taking on the San Diego Padres on Friday in a game that will see the debut of star prospect Kris Bryant

More from Chicago Cubs

Just a little over a week into the 2015 Major League Baseball season, the Chicago Cubs have a winning record, and things are about to get a lot better on Friday with the news that Kris Bryant will be making his way to finally team up with the big boys.

Late Thursday night we found out that the prized prospect and former No. 2 overall pick in the draft will be getting his call to come to the big club and we should see him on Friday. To make the moment matter even that much more, he’ll be making his debut within the friendly confines of Wrigley Field.

It won’t be easy for the star slugger, though, as he’ll be going up against ace James Shields, who will be the one taking the hill for the Padres in this one. Of course, the veteran will be out there looking to teach the young buck a lesson, so that in itself will be something to keep an eye out for.

The Cubs are entering a new era on Friday and here is how you can watch it play out live:

Date: April 17

Start Time: 2 PM ET

Location: Chicago, IL

Stadium: Wrigley Field

TV: ABC 7

Live Stream: MLB.TV
