Matt Barnes’ son is cheering for Warriors, not dad’s Clippers
Los Angeles Clippers’ small forward Matt Barnes posted a picture on his Instagram of his kids’ dress up as “someone you look up to” day at school and one son let him down.
Matt Barnes is one of the better veteran NBA role players as he averaged 10.1 points and 4.0 rebounds per game this season as a starter. His Los Angeles Clippers have been one of the best teams in the league this season, earning the No. 3 seed in the 2015 NBA Playoffs. However, his son is not impressed.

Everyone remembers those days in school where you could dress up as whatever the day asks for. For Barnes’ sons, their school had a ‘dress up as someone you look up to’ day.
It’s pretty clear that one of his sons looks up to his dad while the other looks up to a rival player also in the playoffs with his Clippers.
It looks like one of his sons will be grounded in his room later while the other is eating all the ice cream he wants and playing video games with dad.
Matt did have to buy his son a Stephen Curry jersey, though, if he’s wearing one to school. In fact, Matt must have bought his son all the Warriors gear that his son is wearing, so he can’t be too mad because he’s partially to blame for his son rooting for an opponent.
The fact that his son is dressed as Steph Curry on ‘who do you look up to day’ is pretty funny and Barnes took it in stride, joking that he was going to put Isaiah up for adoption next week.
With the playoffs approaching, there’s a good possibility the Clippers and Warriors could meet in the Western Conference Finals as they are two of the top three teams in the West.
It’s interesting that Barnes let his son wear this as the two teams have had some bad blood in the past:
Good for dad letting his son do what he wants to do even if it means cheering against his own team.
