Julian Edelman of the New England Patriots put together his own cut of the new Star Wars trailer this week featuring clips of his team mates.

Many awaiting the December release of the newest Star Wars movie were excited to see a new trailer debut earlier this week.  This new trailer included a lot of new footage including footage of Tie Fighters and X-Wings, Darth Vader’s charred helmet, and our first look at Han and Chewy since The Return of The Jedi.

One of the people who viewed this trailer and then became overcome with excitement is the New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman.  Edelman then was swayed to give his own take on the trailer putting together his own rendition that features both footage from the upcoming film and clips from last year’s championship run, naming it “Star Pats”.

The trailer uses the same narration from the film but adds Patriot’s players and head coach Bill Belichick.  The narration is used to show that Belichick is depicted as Darth Vader, Edelman as Luke Skywalker, and Tom Brady as princess Leia.  Mirroring the opening of the Star Wars trailer Edelman’s cut opens with a panning shot of Foxboro Stadium, the Patriots home field.

Edelman’s trailer is used as a promotional depiction as he is ready to get back to work with the Patriots to defend their title, and also that he is a fan of the films.  One of the most talked about parts of the new Star Wars trailer is the end which included Han Solo and Chewbacca with their weapons raised with Han saying “Chewy we’re home”.

In Edelman’s cut of the trailer in place of Han and Chewy it shows Tom Brady hugging Rob Gronkowski in their celebration following their Super Bowl win, where Edelman tried his best to match up a part where it would look like it was Brady saying the Han Solo line in Gronk’s ear.

Then you can make out that Brady continues by saying “I love you” to Gronk, it is hard to say whether this is left in purposefully or Edelman just wanted to let the clip linger.
