The NBA Playoffs are underway and the Toronto Raptors are wasting no time in letting Paul Pierce know what they think about him.

When the Toronto Raptors matched up against Brooklyn Nets in last year’s postseason, it lead to an epic troll-fest between the Toronto and New York media. It was fantastic, it was hilarious and it’s continuing with the Raptors and Wizards in this year’s playoffs.

Paul Pierce is a big reason that this little troll-fest is continuing and  basketball is just so much better off because of it. He stoked the coals of the North leading up to the Wizards series against the Raptors and fans in Toronto were ready for him when he arrived.

It didn’t take long, as less then two minutes into the game, Raptors fans were letting Paul Pierce know that they think he sucks.

Loud and proud.

There’s some interesting history between the Raptors and Paul Pierce, as last season the Nets ended Toronto’s season and Pierce was a big part of that. The trolling back and forth in that series was largely viewed as the Toronto media and the New York media going at it — but it’s not become a Toronto and Paul Pierce thing.

Of course, Pierce didn’t help himself when he said that the Raptors don’t scare anyone, and that promoted the first of what is hopefully many trolls between Toronto and Pierce.

That’s just cold, and it’s also hilarious. There’s just something amazing about the trolling that is going on between the Raptors and Pierce — and by default, the Wizards. It’s something that carried over from the Nets-Ratpors series and it’s looking to continue for as long as this series will last.

In that scenario, everyone wins.
