Another Cubs fan catches a foul ball with a beer and chugs, tradition continues

Another Chicago Cubs fan caught a foul ball with a beer and then proceeded to chug it.

The best traditions aren’t planned or pre-determined, but happen naturally. That is exactly what is happening at the Friendly Confines, better known as the big renovation project that is behind schedule, or occasionally known as Wrigley Field.

Yesterday, a fan caught a foul ball in a beer and proceeded to chug it in the 9th inning of the Cubs’ game against the San Diego Padres.

Today, yet another foul ball found its way into a Cubs fan’s frothy brew. He couldn’t let his counterpart yesterday show him up, so he proceeded to chug his beer as well.

Just like that a new tradition is born.

Seriously though, how long can we keep this going? Do fans start trying to catch foul balls with beers to try and be a part of this?

That could lead to some unnecessary spilling and potentially some friction between fans seated next to each other. It isn’t every day this happens though, despite the recent trend, so it seems like the only way to keep it going.

But I hope this trend keeps going because it is hilarious, and makes baseball slightly more interesting.

Here is yesterday’s incident:
