The NFL has released their 2015 schedule, and the Arizona CardinalsĀ will have some interesting match-ups against the NFC West, NFC North, and AFC North.
Playing in a division that featured the last two NFC Champions, and the defending Super Bowl champs, the Arizona Cardinals have to feel really good about themselves after the 2014 season. On the backs of an 11-5 record, the Cardinals vaulted the San Francisco 49ers and jumped into second place in the AFC West. Sure, they lost in the Wild Card round to the Carolina Panthers, but overall the team was quite successful.
Of course, the questions lingered into the offseason about what could have been for the Cardinals. Having lost not only their starting quarterback, but also their back-up, Arizona limped into postseason play with the biggest hurdle to overcome. It turned out to be too much though.
The Cardinals were relatively quiet this offseason. Of course, getting your starting QB (Carson Palmer) back from a torn ACL is a huge addition, but with sizeable needs at linebacker, the team went out and added Sean Weatherspoon andĀ also solidified the defensive line with Cory Peters and Cory Redding. And itās always a good offseason when you can add a Pro-Bowl left guard in Mike Iupati.
Then again, the game isnāt played solely on the back of the roster you assemble, but also the schedule you have to endure.Ā Each year, NFL teams play each team within their division twice and they play one AFC and one NFC divisionĀ on a rotational basis. To fill in the final two spots on the schedule, the teams need to take on opponents who finished in the same position in their respective divisions.
For the Arizona Cardinals, it looks like it will be an interesting schedule to say the least.Ā After playing a tough NFC West division that they went 3-3 againstĀ in 2014, ArizonaĀ will see the NFC North and the AFC North on their schedules.Ā To balance out the schedule, the CardinalsĀ also throw in match-ups with the Philadelphia Eagles and the New Orleans Saints.
So what does the Arizona CardinalsĀ schedule look like for the 2015 season?
