The Chicago Cubs are going to bring up hot phenom Addison Russell to the big league level.

The Chicago Cubs are starting to bring up their top prospects up to the major league level. They just recently brought up Kris Bryant to make his major league debut last week and he has taken over the starting job at third base and is in the middle of the lineup for the Cubs. After 4 games he is batting .429 with 4 RBI and the expectations are high. He still has been crowned the savior of the franchise and the team expects him to produce.

The Cubs are looking to bring in more reinforcements from the minor leagues. They are going to bring up Addison Russell from the minors to join the big league club, according to Jon Heyman. He had been ranked the No. 2 prospect by Baseball Prospectus in the game heading into the 2015 season. He should give the team more of an offensive boost on the roster when he joins the squad. He has a great bat and will be switching from his normal position at shortstop to get some at bats from the second base spot. We will see where the team places him in the lineup, but he should be able to give the team more offensive talent.

The Cubs have a solid group of young talent on the roster with Bryant called up and Russell now at the big league level. They will be joining Jorge Soler, Anthony Rizzo and Starlin Castro as young talent that will help this team propel to the top of the standings. The Cubs are currently sitting in 2nd place in the division with the St. Louis Cardinals holding a 1.5 game lead. There still is a lot of baseball to be played though and we will see how the young players for the Cubs will be able to adjust to big league pitching. We will also see if the big league pitching will find any holes in their swings.

We are not sure if the young talent will be able to last, but we will get to see them take their hacks against some top pitching. We wonder if Russell will get an opportunity to play at shortstop this season. Castro holds the starting job at the position, but he could be trade bait if the team were to stumble throughout the season. We will be watching all the young talent in Chicago.
