Now, that’s how you start a game.
Mike Dunleavy and Jimmy Butler connected on a sick alley-oop slam that opened up the scoring of Thursday’s Game 3 between the Chicago Bulls and Milwaukee Bucks.
Take a look at Butler’s dunk from Dunleavy’s feed below:
"Dunleavy to Butler for the backdoor alley-oop JAM on @NBATV! #NBARapidReplay http://t.co/7K2AVRtw7f— NBA (@NBA) April 24, 2015"
That really is a great play. Butler does an excellent job of cutting backdoor and Dunleavy’s feed is perfectly on target.
It sure wasn’t surprising to see Butler get a quick start in the scoring column on Thursday. He’s been outstanding offensively through two games in this series and there’s no reason to believe he won’t keep it going. Butler poured in 25 points in Game 1 and dropped 31 in Game 2.
Game 3 certainly presents a huge opportunity for Butler, Dunleavy and the Bulls. If they can knock out the Bucks in Milwaukee on Thursday night, they’ll take a 3-0 lead over the Bucks and essentially wrap up the series.
Butler averaged 20.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game this season.
