There’s Plenty of Value Where They Currently Pick

With that being said, the selections available for the Browns should have the team’s fans excited shoudl they choose to stay put with the 12th and 19th selections in the first round.

The Browns have needs all over the defense and at the skill positions on offense. There is a solid chance that nose tackle Danny Shelton would be available at 12, as well as possession receiver DeVante Parker. Shelton is the best strictly interior defensive lineman prospect in the draft, and he excels at stuffing inside runs and drawing double teams from offensive lineman. Parker would give the Browns a primary receiver that was a dependable and crisp catcher and route-runner, while still having the ability to generate big plays down the field.

The same goes for prospects like DT Malcom Brown and linebackers Eric Kendricks and Shaq Thompson at 19. Brown is a less punchy but more nimble version of Shelton that could very well be available if the Browns decide to go elsewhere earlier. Kendricks is a stellar sideline to sideline tackler at middle linebacker who cleans up runs with his smart and instinctual reads. Thompson, on the other hand, is a versatile athlete who causes chaos in the backfield and in coverage.
