Boxing fans fortunate enough to be in Las Vegas for the Fight of the Century can watch the bout on closed circuit for a hefty price.
Of course the ideal situation would be to attend the Fight of the Century on May 2nd between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, but with ticket prices starting at $1,500 for the cheap seats, it is simply not feasible for the majority of us.
For boxing fans fortunate enough to even be in Las Vegas for the event, however, closed circuit viewing is the next best option.
MGM Resorts International is putting tickets to their closed circuit event on sale tonight for a price of $150, plus handling fees.
A ticket to closed circuit viewing of Floyd-Manny fight at MGM properties in Vegas will be $150+ handing fees. Go on sale today at 6pm ET.

If you are thinking to yourself why someone would pay $150 for a closed circuit viewing when the pay-per-view price for the event is only $89.95, pay-per-view is not an option for Las Vegas hotels. The fight is being hosted at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, and as a result, their parent company MGM Resorts International owns exclusive rights to the event. The fight is unavailable on pay-per-view at any hotels in the city, including those owned by MGM.
While prices for anything regarding the fight are absurdly high, such is to be expected. After all, there is a reason the fight is being labeled the Fight of the Century. Boxing enthusiasts and casual sports fans have been waiting for this fight since negotiations first began late in 2009.
After more than five years of constant excuses regarding why the fight could not happen, whether it was Pacquiao’s refusal to change drug testing terms, Mayweather wanting more money or his stint in prison for domestic abuse, the day we have all been waiting for is ascending upon us.
Is the $60 mark up to watch the fight in Vegas a bit ridiculous?
Maybe, but if you can afford to fly into Sin City and book a hotel for the weekend of the Fight of the Century, I am confident that you have the extra cash for closed circuit viewing.
As someone who will be dropping close to a c-note to watch the event from nearly 2,000 miles away, I have little sympathy for anyone in Vegas complaining about the minor cost difference.
For the extra cost, viewers can have the opportunity to be a part of an epic event that the boxing world has not seen in almost two decades, since Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield’s notorious bout in 1997. The Pacquiao-Mayweather fight will be much less barbaric than Tyson-Holyfield, but it provides just as much hype if not more.
The event is setting all kinds of records for costs of a boxing match, and if the build up is any indicator, the price will be worth every penny.
