5 teams that would take Johnny Manziel
The Arizona Cardinals are a team that is on the cusp of being a serious contender in the NFL. Their extremely talented defense carried them to an 11-5 record and a playoff appearance last year, despite a lack of stability at the quarterback position.
Carson Palmer went down with another season ending injury, and if the Cardinals are going to bank their playoff hopes on a 35-year old quarterback coming off a torn ACL, they are going to be in serious trouble in 2015.
Drew Stanton is the other quarterback in town, and while he has been serviceable throughout his career, he is not leading the Cardinals to the promised land.
Not that Johnny Manziel will immediately either, but I would put my money on the second-year quarterback and college football legend over the 30-year old career backup. If Palmer is back to full strength, however, then he should start without a doubt. Even in his later years, he has shown flashes of why he was taken No. 1 overall by the Bengals back in 2003.
If Manziel could go to Arizona and sit behind Palmer for one year, it would benefit the young quarterback tremendously. In addition to gaining NFL wisdom from the veteran, he would also have the opportunity to grow with a very talented and young Cardinals team in dire need of a quarterback of the future.
