The Rockets vs. Mavericks are meeting in Game 3 tonight, and it’s looking like this could be an epic first round series.
The NBA playoffs are in full swing, but the Dallas Mavericks are already hanging on for dear life in the postseason. Down two games to the Houston Rockets, Dallas needs a win at home in Game 3 to not only stay alive in the series but make sure they’re not pushed to the brink of elimination.
Of course, even if they lose, the Mavericks will live to fight at least one more day but do they really want to at this point? There is so much chaos in Dallas at the moment and the Mavericks are a mess with the Rondo drama, the Chandler Parsons injury and the fact that they’re getting spanked by their rivals.
Houston is in a great position to sweep the Mavericks out of the postseason and reach the second round of the playoffs, but that’s a task which is a lot easier said than done. They’re one of the best teams in the NBA and to get into the next round would not only boost the team to a level they’ve rarely been to before, but it would be a nice little middle finger to Dallas in the process.
