Pagano is popular in Indianapolis

One of the primary reasons it would be wise to retain Pagano is his popularity in Indianapolis. Ever since his battle with leukemia and his strong recovery, Pagano has been one of the most popular head coaches in the NFL. He could probably convince the entire city to get sideways Mohawk haircuts and dye their hair like a peacock.

Getting rid of a popular head coach who has persevered through hardship and brought your team success is an excellent way for Jim Irsay to disgruntle the entire Indianapolis Colts fanbase. After blowing up the Colts in 2011, the ease with which the Colts were able to add Luck, Pagano and a competent team was enough to appease Colts fans, but Irsay may not have the same opportunities and resources he had in 2011.
